My time at Yurk Counseling Services LLC continues to be a rewarding experience. I have met so many wonderful clients and am grateful to those who have allowed me into their lives to collaborate with and assist them in striving to overcome life’s difficult challenges. With that being said, I wanted to take a moment to remind clients that one of the areas of my internship is focused on providing mental health services for Medicaid clients.
As a counselor, I operate from a strength-based/solution-focused mindset and believe that you, the clients, are the experts in your own lives; are healthy, competent, resourceful, and have the ability and fortitude to foster the awareness and change you desire. We will work together to help you achieve a better sense of self awareness, strive to uncover your strengths, and to set goals for success. Our sessions will also be conducted with a sense of mindfulness; that is you will be able to express feelings and thoughts without judgement.
Allow me to share a little bit about my background. I hold an Associates of Arts degree from College of DuPage in Illinois, a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and a graduate certificate in Contemporary Theory in Mental Health Services from Capella University. Currently, I am conducting both my mental health counseling practicum and internship at Yurk Counseling Services LLC to complete my Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I hope you will allow me to aid you in fostering your mental health journey.
