EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is an acupressure technique that combines elements from neuroscience, psychology, and Chinese medicine and is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD, anxiety, and stress. Best of all, it is easy to do and anyone can learn it.
EFT can be used for a wide array of issues such overwhelm, anger, pain, limiting beliefs, food cravings and smoking succession. When we start to feel unwell, see or hear negative things or are triggered about a past pain, negative emotions begin to build up which activates our fight, flight, or freeze response. Clinical trials repeatedly demonstrate EFT’s effectiveness to rapidly reduce the emotional impact of memories that trigger emotional distress and dysregulation. EFT (or tapping) specific points on our body in a short, simple sequence sends a calming signal to our brain which turns off that stress response.
EFT is a technique that can have an almost immediate calming effect and can be used as little or as much as you need. I use EFT with many of my clients and they appreciate how quickly it can work on both small and big issues. I also use personally use EFT to manage my own anxiety and stress.
