Introducing James Lammers, MA, LPC-IT

Yurk Counseling Services LLC is pleased to announce the addition of a therapist, James Lammers, MA, LPC-IT. Learn about James in his bio:

“As an individual who cherishes knowledge and experience I have interacted with and learned from a very wide diversity of people and focuses. Raised on a farm in Sheboygan County, I then went to UW Green Bay for a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. My love of learning led me to return for multiple other degrees and certifications in theatre, human resources, nursing, science and the arts. I finally returned to my passion of counseling by achieving a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Lakeland University. My personal experiences in life are many and varied. They include crisis services, foreign exchange, alternative lifestyles, community service, and physical/mental disciplines to name a few.

I am an individual who cherishes acceptance and understanding. My philosophy towards helping my clients lies in the idea that there is not a right or wrong, but a problem needing a solution. My therapeutic practice is strongly influenced by the approaches of existential, cognitive behavioral, and person-centered therapy. I am also trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and CAMS (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality) framework.

I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Counseling (ALGBTIC).”
